1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small data file that a website places in your browser. With the help of cookies, the browser stores certain information about the use of the website, and cookies may be essential for the basic functions of the website or may serve to remember analytics, marketing, or convenience settings.
2. Purpose of cookies used by Timot
Timot uses only cookies that are essential for the secure and error-free operation of the website and user accounts:
- session cookie – used to maintain the user’s logged-in status,
- security cookie – protects against unauthorised form submissions and CSRF attacks,
- “Remember me” cookie – remembers if the user requests that their login status be preserved.
Cookies are not suitable for personally identifying you, and they do not collect statistical or marketing information or information that is transmitted to third parties.

4. Legal basis and data processing
The use of necessary cookies is based on Act C of 2003 on Electronic Communications, and on Article 6(1)(f) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) (the provider’s legitimate interest).
Timot performs its statistical analyses using Matomo in a cookie-free manner on its own server. The Matomo analytics system does not place cookies, and the anonymised data is not transferred to any third party.
5. Managing and deleting cookies
You can delete cookies in your browser at any time, or set your browser to prevent them from being placed. Please note that if you disable necessary cookies, Timot services (e.g., login, sending notifications) will not be available or will not function properly.
